How to install NeoForge on NexusCloud

This guide explains how to install NeoForge on a Minecraft Java server through the NexusCloud panel.

Back up your server

Reinstall Server may delete server data. Create a backup before continuing if the server already contains a world or other important files.

Installation steps

  1. Open the NexusCloud panel and select your server.
  2. If you are using a mobile phone, open the panel menu (☰).
  3. Open the Startup menu.
  4. Set Minecraft Version to the version you want to use, for example 1.21.8.
  5. Open the official NeoForge website and find a NeoForge version compatible with that Minecraft version.
  6. Return to the panel's Startup menu and set NeoForge Version to the version you selected. Example version combination:
    • Minecraft Version: 1.21.8
    • NeoForge Version: 21.8.54
  7. Open the Settings menu, then click Reinstall Server.
  8. Confirm the reinstall and wait for the installation to finish.
  9. Open the Console menu, then click Start.
  10. Wait until the console shows that the server has finished starting and is ready for players.

Important notes

  • Make sure the NeoForge version is compatible with the selected Minecraft version. The latest version list is available on the official NeoForge website.
  • Do not stop or restart the server while the reinstall is still running.
  • If the server fails to start, check the error in Console and make sure the Java version supports the Minecraft and NeoForge versions you selected.
