How to change difficulty on a Bedrock server¶
On a Bedrock dedicated server, difficulty is set via a Startup variable in the panel, not via a command or config file the way Java does.
Steps¶
- Open
https://panel.nexuscloud.id/. - Select your Bedrock server.
- Open the hamburger menu (the three-line icon) or the
=icon if you are on mobile. - Scroll down and look for the Startup section.
- Click Startup, then look for the Difficulty variable.
- Change the value to what you want.
- Once saved, go to Console and Restart the server.
- The server's difficulty has been changed.
Difficulty options¶
| Value | Meaning |
|---|---|
peaceful |
No hostile mobs. |
easy |
Weaker hostile mobs. |
normal |
The default setting. |
hard |
Stronger mobs and hunger can kill. |
Notes¶
- Bedrock servers use the difficulty variable name from the NexusCloud egg's Startup menu, not the
difficultycommand in the console. - After changing it, restart the server so the new value is applied to all players.
